In the House of Representatives, Dec 6, 1837.
The Committee on Claims, to whom wias referred the petition of the town coun-
cil of Beaufort praying to be indemnified for expenses incurred by the erection of
a pest house, and also for an appropriation for their transient poor, respectfully
report:-That they are unanimously of opinion, the prayer of tie peti.
tioners should be granted; that the sum of nine hundred and twenty-one dollars
sixty-six cents be appropriated to indemnify t lie town council of Beaufort for the e.
rection of a pest-house; and the sum of two hundred dollars for the use of their
transient poor, to be annually accounted for to the Legislature.
Resolved, That the House do agree to the report. Ordered, that it be sent to

The Committee on Claims, as to the account of Thos. J. Ganti, praying pay.
ment of an account for stationary, &c. furnished the Court of Appeals, report:-
That the account appears, on due examination, just and reasonable, and they re-
commend that it be, therefore, paid; amounting to two hundred and fifty dollars
sixty-two cents.
Resolved, That the House do agree to the report. Ordered, that it be sent to

The Committee on Claims, as to Mrs. Narcissa Hudson's account against the
state for dieting prisoners in jail, report :-That the account appears to be ade.
quately established by vouchers, and they, therefore, recommend that one hundred
and forty dollars, thirty cents be appropriated in payment of the same. Provided,
that Capt. John A. Bradley, who was Sheriff of Chester District whilst the said
services were rendered, assign and relinquish to said Nareissa Hudson, all his
right and claim for said services.
Resolved, That the House do agree to the report. Ordered, that it be sent to

The committee on claims, to whom was referred the petition of John Stevens,
praying payment for a negro executed for rape, beg leave to report:-That they
have examined the same, and recommend the sum of one hundred and twenty two
dollars and forty-five cents be appropriated therefor.

The committee on claims. to whom was referred the petition of B. H. Saxon,
praying pityment for services rendered the State, respectfully report:-That they
have considered the same, and recommend that lie be paid the sum of one hundred
and fifty-five dollars and fifty cents as in full of his demand.
