In the House of Representatives, Dec. 19, 1837.
The Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the accounts, of A. 1. Lowry,
Sheriff of Chesterfield District, report:-They have examined the same, and re.
commend that the sum of fourteen dollars be appropriated for the payment thereof.
Resolved, That the House do agree to the report. Ordered, that it be sent to

The Committee on Claims, to whoim was referred the account of John Sim.
mons, Jailor of Lairens D)sirict, report:-That they have examined the same,
and recommend that. tha suin of' two hundred and tiirty-five dollars thirty cents
be appropriated foir the payuier tliereol, as soon as the Sheriff of Laurens District
shall give his assent ill writing thereto.
Resolved, That the House do agree to the report. Ordered, that it he sent to the

The Committee on Claims, to whorn was referred the claim of Jonah Edon a.
gainst the State for carrying ant express, report i-That they have examined the
claim, and recommend the sum of twenty dollars be appropriated for the payment
thereof.

The Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the account of A. Herbemont,
clerk of the court of appeals, beg leave to report:-That they have examined the
same, and find it correct. That the works therein mentioned, was done under a
Resolution of the Legislature, and recoimmend that the sum of twelve hundred
and thirty-seven dollars seventy cents, be appropriated therefor.
Resolved, That this House do agree to the report. Ordered, that it be sent to

prayimg comlpentsati n for it slave ex(cuted, report: That they have examined the
matter referred, andil lot int W Ilimiu tihe slave of Petitioner, was executed per.
suant to sentence thr sinblung, brnsing and wounditig a white man. Your com-
inittee, therefore, recointueni thamt the amount usually allowed on such occassions,
to wit: one hundred and twenty-two dollar. be appropriated therefor.

Sheriff of Edgefield District, praying to be allowed to make his return on certain
tax executions, and to be relieved from the payment ofcertain interest, beg leave
to report :-That they have examined the matter submitted, and recommend that
petitioner be allowed to make his return to the Treasurer as proposed by him, and:
