Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re- ''etng Co presentalives, now met and silling in General Assembly, persons (ifcolor. and by the authority qf the same, That whoever shall here- after be convicted of the forcible or fraudulent abduction, or assisting in the forcible or fraudulent abduction of any free person of color, living within this State, with intent to deprive him or her of his or her liberty, shall be fined not less than one thousand dollars, and be imprisoned for not less than twelve months. And whoever, in addition to such abduction,shall m oiives, actually sell, or assist in selling, or cause to be sold, such person as a slave, shall, upon being duly convicted thereof, in addition to such fine and imprisonment, receive thi ty- nine lashes on the bare back. Be it enacted by the Honorable the Senate of the Ealir-n and House of Representatives, now met and sitting in Ge- neral Assembly, and by the authorily of the same, That the Courts of Law shall hereafter be held, for a part of the Eastern Circuit, at the times and places, as follows: at Georgetown, on the second Monday after the fourth Mon- (lay in March and October; and at Williamnshurgh Court House, on the third Monday after the fourth Monday in Alarch and October.
