RESOLVED, That F. H. ElImore, Sblicitor of the Southern Circuit, be authorize4
to make out an exemplification of the judgment of the Treasurers of the State of
South-Carolina, against James Stevens,, one of the securities of Barkley Ferguson,
sheriff of Beaufort district, and to employ some suitable person in Georgia, tosue fat
and collect the same, and that he be authorized to draw on the Treasury for one
hundred dollars, if so much be necessary, to prosecute the said claim, and that pro7i.
sion be made therefor in the appropriation bill.
Ordered, That the resolution be sent to the House of Representatives for concur-
rence.           By order of the Senate,         JOB, JOHNSTON, C. S.

RESOLVED, That the Treasurer of the Lower Division be authorizud to pay over
to the Cuimissioners of fre schols for Marion district, the amount due said district
for the year 1829.

THE Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the petition of William Choice,
executor of Samuel Crayton, deceased, praying the payment of accounts due his tes-
tator by the State, beg leave respectfully to Report, that they have considered the
same, and recommend that the two accounts of eight dollars fifty seven cents each,
amounting in the whole to seventeen dollars fourteen cents, for holding two inquests
as coroner, be paid. The account of eight dollars, for four days service on the State
Road, your comnmittee recommend should not be paid, as no satisfactury evidence was.
produced either of the contract or the service.
THE Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the petition of Benjamin Wafford,
praying compensation for a negro executed, beg leave respectfully to Report, That
they have considered the same, and recommend that the prayer thereof be granted,
and that the usual appropriation of one hundred and twenty two dollars forty five
cents be made.
THE Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the petition of William Cain,
praying compensation for a slave executed, beg leave respectfully to Report, that
they have considered the same, and recommend that the prayer thereof he granted,
and that the usual appropriation of one hundred and twenty two dollars forty five
cents be made.
THE Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the petition of William Cain,
executor of Daniel Cain, deceased, praying compensation for a negro executed, beg
leave to Report, that they have considered the same, and recommend that the prayer
thereof be granted, and that the usual appropriation of one hundred and twenty two
dollars forty five cents be made.
THE Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the petition of Joseph Wood,
praying compensation for the maintenance and funeral expensesof a transient pauper,
begleave respectfuly to Report, that they have comidered the same, and recom-
mend that lie be paid the sum of fifteen dollars, that amount in the opinion of your
committee being a reasonable compensation.
THE Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the petition ofRichard Mt. Todd,
praying to be refunded a sum of money paid into the Treasury, arising fom the sale
ofa fugitive slave, sold for gaol fees, beg leave respectfilly to Report, that they hqve
considered the same, and find the facts therein stated to be true, and that the balance
after deducting fees, amounted to the sum of one hundred and ninety two dqllars
eighty-one cents, which your committee recommend to be paid.
