THE Committee on Claims, to whom was referred the petition of the Grand ard
Petit Jrnts for Williamsburgh district, praying compensation for attendance at Fall
Term, 1828, beg leave to Report, that they have'considered the same, and recon-
mend that those of the petitioners who attended one day, be each paid the sum of one
dollar, and tlutt those who attended two days, be each paid the sum of two dollars.
Resolved, That the House do agree to the report. Ordered, That it be sent to the
Senate.

TIE Committee on-Claims, to whon was referred the petition of Joseph Montgom-
cry, praying compensation for a negrn executed, beg leave to Report, that they have
considered the same, and recommend that the petitioner be paid the sum of one hun-
dred and twenty-two dollars and forty-four cents.
Resolted, That the House do agree to the report. Ordered, That it be sent to the
Senate.

THE Committee of Ways and Means, to whom was referred the petition of John G:
Godfrey and others, praying the remission of a double tax, respectfully Report, that
they have considered the same, and recommend that the Comptroller-General be di-
rected to refund to the petitioners, the sum of forty-two dollArs and fifty-eight cents.
Resolved, That the House do agree to the report. Ordered, That it be sent to the
Senate.

THE Committee of Ways and Means, to whom was referred the petition of Charles
T. Steedman, Sheriff of Charleston district, praying that the Comptroller may be di-
rected to settle with him upon equitable principles, in relation to certain tax-execu-
tions lodged with him for collection, in the years 1808, 9, 10 and 11; and a report from
the Senate upon the said petition, respectfully beg to be discharged from the further
consideration of both, and recommend that the petition be referred to the Comptrol-
ler-General for examination and adjustment.
Resolved, That the House do agrde to the report. Ordered, That it be sent to the
4enate.
