CHAP. 14.-An ACT to regulate the fees of the Officers of the Courts
of Law and Equity in this State, and for other purposes therein men-
tioned.
[Section 1.] le it enacted by the TIonorable the Senate and
House of Ilepresentatives, That every oflicer hereinafter nam-
ed, shall charge and rreeive tOr the discharge of the various dlu-  ce
ties of his offive, the fees hereinafter particularly recited and limited.
no others; and that for ill services not hereinafter specifical-
ly recited, the said officers shall not be entitled to any fee;
but the said services so omitted in this act, shall be taken and
understood as incidental to others for which fees are charged.
Sec. 2. 1e it further enacted, That all acts or parts of acts,
in relation to fees of any of the officers hereinafter named, be, New fee bill.
and the same are hereby repealed ; and that this act shall be
taken and considered as the only act in force in relation to the
fees of the oflicers hereinafter recited. Attorney's in the Su-
perior Courts of Law--PlaintiY or Defendant's Attorney, for
rule on Sheriff or other officer of the Court, three dollars ; is- Attorney's
suing writ of attachment for. contempt, three dollars ; Plain- fees
tiff's Attorney,forissning every writ and other incidental char-
ges to filing declaration, four dollars; for filing declaration,
posting rules and all incidental charges before entering tip
jutidgment, four dollars; for entering up judgment, issuing exc.
cut ion and all incidontal charges whatever inclusive, three
dollars ; where special bail is required, one dol lar; for every
subpoena writ and ticket, one dollar; for every renewal of
execution, one dollar; for every demurrer or joinder in de-
murrer, three dollars; for every motion for a new i rial, in ar-
rest of judgment or special matter and argument on trial in
Circuit, or in the Court of Appeals, live dollars ; for every
rule to shew cause, two dollars ; for every commission to ex-
amine witnesses, or niling cross interrogatories, eight dollars
for every appeal from a niagistrAte, two dollars; for commnen-
cing; defending and prosecuting every case in suminary pro-
