THZ Committee on luternal Improvenent, to whom was referred sundry petiti
from the inhabitants of Sunter district, and the presentment of the Grand Jof the
said district, respectfully eport, that they have had the same under coal-ci-7
id recommend the-adoption of the following resolution.
Reasw4 rhat the Superintendent of Public Works be required to cause a servey
or surveys to be made, fbr the purpose ofascertaining the practicability, the ezpense,
and tihe public local advantages of comstructing a good road from some proper point
on the State road.above Wassamassaw swamp, leading by Nelson's ferry, to Suater-
wille 4 and also. from Vhnte's ferry, in the most proper direction to Camden.
Resolved, That the Senate do agree to the report. Ordered. That it be sent to the
House of Representatives for concurrence.

of one hundred and twenty-two dollars and forty-fiur cents.
Resohed, That the Senate do agree to the report. Ordered, That it be sent to the

THE Committee on Claims, to whom was-referred the petition of Benjamin Bailey,
enardian of Win. It. Jenkins and Sarah B. Jenkins, (niinos,) praying compensation
for a negro executed, beg leave to Report, that they ha,'e careffily examined into the
merit. of the same, and find it satisfactorily vouched, and your Committee, conceIving
this to be a case for which some provision has been made by law, do respectfully re-
commehd, that the prayer of the petitioner be granted, and that one hundred and
twentty-two dollars and forty.four cents be set apart in the appropriation bill for that
purpose.
Resolved, That the Senate do agree-to the report. Ordered, That the same be sent
to the House of Reps esentatives for concurrence.

pleton; praying remuneration for repairs done to a gun carriage, beg leave t9 Report,
that they have carefully examined the same, and are of opinion that has claim is just and
equitable,and do most respectflly recommend, that the petitioner be paid the sum of
t*enty-seven dollars.
Resolved, That the Senate do agree to the report. Ordered4 That it be sent to the
Rouse of Representatires for concurrence.
