pfoesaid, That fiom and after the passing of this net,      .
every free white man, who is by the constilution of this Fveion of
State entitled to vote for members of either branch of the1'p  cas
Legislature, shall he entitled to vote for Intendant and of en..en
Wardens of the town of Camden ; any law, usage, or cus- regulated.
torm to the contrary notwithsttindin:': Provided. such
person offering to vote as aforesnid, shall have* resided in
said town one year immediately p'celing the election
of said officers; the persons so voting, if required, shall
produce to the managers of election a cerilleate from the
Intendantor Recorder of said town, ofrlshaving perforni-
ed patrdl and road duty, or paid an equivalent for not
,doing so within said town.

4rHAP, 10.-An ACT concernng the State Roads, and for preserving
and protecting the same.
WHEREAS, it is ncessary that the severd roads
irhich have been, or which hereafter may he contriicted
in this State, under the authority and at tihe xpense iahre-
of, should )e protected by lo~v from injury and dilapida-
tion, and that provision should be made for keeping the
same in good and constant repair
[Sec. 1.] Be it therefore enac/cd bythe H- noroble the
Senate and Hiouse of Representalties no. met ind ,dt-
ling in General .d1embly, and by the aithority qf the
same, That if any person shall wilfully and maliciously de- Penalty for
stroy, injure, or im any manner hurt, damage, impair, or iuring pub-
obstruct any of the said roads, or any pal thereof, or any tci works.

toll gate, toll house, or other crection belonging to the

shall, on conviction thereof, be imprisoned not more than
three months, nor less than one month, and pay a finenot
exceeding five hundred dollars, nor less than twenty dol-
Iars, at the discietion of the Court before which the con-
viction shall take place, and shall be further liable to pay
gll the expense of repairing the samp.
