are now required by law to be  kept at the said court-house,
to the court-house to-be built and erected; and the prison-
ers in the district, that may then be confined, shall be con-
,veyed to the said gaol; and the courts of justice shall fromn
thencpforth be held at that place instead of the one at which
,they ar4 at present held.

son, William G. Fragin, James Ferness, James R      'Ervin
and William Brown, esluires, be, and they are hereby ap
pointed commissioners; and they or a rnajority of them be,
and are hereby 4thorised under the direction of the en-
gineer, td contract for materials and workmanship to erect
the buildings aforesaid ; and they or a majorit of them,
are hereby fully authorised to make cofitracts for the same,
and to supervise the same until theyare completely finish.

HEREAS the Intendant apd Warden  of Sullivan's
V V Island have, by their memorial to the'legislature,
representedIthat the act of incorporation doth require some
alterations'and amendments, tn order to enable the corpo,
ration to carry into effect the powers and regulations there
by intended:
Be it tereforeenacted by the honorable the Senate and 1c i
of Re/As~entatives, now met and sitili in general assem-
blU, andby the auithority 'of the same, That it shall be lawful Patrol <tuty
for the intendant and wardens of 1Woultrieville on Sulli- to be per-
vran's, to provide, by ordinaihce under their corporate seal, f
for thie performance of patrol duty on the saiid island, by
the whole of the inhabitants of the said island, including
s weithe owners of buses who reside there, or whose fa-
niilies reside there,, as also those glo hire houses, or keep
lodging houses, public houses or stores; and all persons
lodging or residing therein, who are capable of peorming
