the year one thbusand eight hundred and sixteen, and A
the anendatory act thereto, passed at December session,
one thousand eight hundred and seventeen, prohibiting
and restricting the bringing of negroes into thi9 state
from the sister states.
E it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
tives, now met and sitting in genered assembly, and
it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That from
and after the passing of this act, the act of the lgisla-
ture, entitled, an act to prohibit the importation of slaves
into this state from any of the United States, and for other
purposes therein mentioned, passed the nineteenth day
of December, in the year of our Lord, one thousand
eight hundred and sixteen ; also the act, entitled, an act
to amend an act, entitled, an act to prohibit the importa-
tion of slaves into this state, from any of the United
States, and for other purposes therein mentioned, passed
the eighteenth day of December, in the year of our Lord
one thousand eight hundred and seventeen, be, and the
game are hereby repealed.
In the Senate House, the sixteenth day qf.Decenzbep, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen, and in the
forty-thirdyear qfthe Independence of'the United States of America.

An ACT to excuse the o-icers of the several branches, of
the Bank of the State of South-Carolina from  the per-
f rnance of ordinary militia duty, and serving on
Juries.
I  E it enacted by the honorable the Senate and House
of Representatives, nowv met and sitting in general
qssembly, and by the authority of the same, That the pre-
uidents and cashiers of the several branches of the Bank
of the State of South-Carolina, and the clerks employed
in the same, shall be, and they are hereby declared to be
exempted from the performance of ordinary militia duty
and from serving on juries.
In the Senate Hose, the sixteenth day of December, in the year qf
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen, andin the forty.
