Beit therefore enactedby the honorable the Senate and
House of Representatites, now met and sitting in gene
ralassembly, and by the authority of the same, That
Serenus Mayer be, and he is hereby authorized and
empowered to emancipate and set free, by his last will
and testament the ab6ve named'slaves, Beck, and her
children, Mo sy, Maryan, Abram and Sylvia. *

pointed for that purpose, and for other puiposes
therein mentioned.
W     HERE AS the legislature of this state, by an act
passed at Columbia In December, in the year of
our lord one thousand eight hundred and nine, appoint
ed Elisha Mallard, Jaises Dehay, George Keckly,
James R. Stew:irt, David Rumph, sen. and Jeremiah
Russell, commissioners for, running out and marking
the lines between the said parishes. And whereas, thu
said commissioners have report: d thereon, and ertificd
a plat of the lines between the said'parishes:
Be it therefore enacted by the honorable .the Senate
and fouse of Representatives, now met and sitting in
general assenzbly,iznd by the athqity of the same, That
the parish of St. JquesbGoose-creek, shall hereafier
be bounded by aline begihning at the corner of the low-
er line of the parish of St. George, and the upper line
of St. Andrew's parish, where it intersects the parish
line of St. James, Goose-creek; from thence a direct
north-west course, until it strikes the Four-hole swamn;
from thence taking the channel of the said Four-hole
svamp until it intersects the Orangeburg line in the said
swimp or bay, as is represented by a plat certified by
John Wilson, esquire, employed for the purpose by
commissioners appointed for the same.
And be it further enacted by the authority aforesaid,
