preceding articles, and to renounce respectively to
each other, every right, claim, and pretvnsion
which may be inconsisent NN ith the true meaning
and purpose of this agrecenlt, wdhich is to estab-
lish beteen the states of South-Carolina and
North- Croliina, a permun tt and unalterable boun-
dary: Pr-ovided nevertheless, that in case at any
time this agreeent sail b contested, or not con-
formed to after the ratificaion of it, by the kegisla-
tures of the said tates, ali tG I gvhts, claIms and pre-
tensions herein intended to be renounco d and con-
veyed, and all other rights and clihms in relation
thercto, shall revive and txist in the sane force
and cffect as they did before the signing of these
presents, in favor of the state wxhich shAll confbrm
thereto:
Be it there'fore enicted by the honorable the Se-
nate and lotuse ojRepresentatives, nowit met and
sitting in general assem'ly, and by the authority of
the sime, That the said convention, and dl the ar.
ticks thereof, shall be for ever binding on the state
of South-Carolina, and that the same is hereby
fhitlly and absolutely raCified and conlirm id.
