Persons That every person liabic to pay the tax hereby im.

property the preceding clause of this aE, shall, in his or her
repaired said return, particularly account for any proper-
to,'o'  ty by him or her sold .since the return of the pre.
thecuor. ceding year, by stating whcthcr the same was sold
by him or her, before or subsequent to the first of
October, then next preceding, and to whom, that
the Comptrollcr-gcneral, by an examination
thercof; may be enabled to ascertain whether the
tax due thereon has been paid; and in case any
person shall fail or negica to do so, he, she or
they shall be liable for a double tax thereon, in
the same manner as he, she or they,.would have
been, had he, she or they not dispossessed them-
selves thereof.

1  E it enatled by the honorable the Senate and
Houfe of Reprefestat'ves, now met andfiting
in general afenbly, an4) the authority of ihefane,
Appro. That the following sums be respelively appro-
priations* priated for the salaries of public officers, and
other expenccs and purposes of government:
-For'the salary of the governor, two thousand
five hundred and seventy-two dollars.
For the salary of the secretary of the gover-
nor, four hundred and thirty dollars.
