B E it enaLed bv the honorable the fenate and the bou/e of reprefentatives now met and fitting in general affembly, and by the authorily of the fame, That a tax for the fums, and in the Tax tobe manner herein after mentioned, fhall be raifed raifed. and paid into the public treafury of this flate for the ufe and fervice thereof, And be itfurther ena~ed by the authority afore- faid, That twenty-five cents per centum ad va- lorem, be paid in fpecie or paper mediun,on all ad valo- lands granted within this flate, under the feveral rem on regulations herein after expreffed-that is to fay: lands, Clafs No. i, Shall contain all tide swamp of the firft quality, not generally affeaed by the salts or frefhes, which fhall be rated at twenty-fix dollars per acre; all tide swamp of the second quality, not generally affeEted by the salts or freihes, which fhall be rated at seventeen dollars per acre; all tide swamp of the third quality, not generally affeed by the salts or frelhes, which shall be rated at eight and an. half dollars per-acre; all pine barren land adjoining such swamps
