CURONERS' BONDS.
AN ACT TO REQUIRE THE REGISTRATION OF CORONERS' BONDS.  Chap. 18.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Bonds tobe
North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority registered.
qf the same, That all official bonds of coroners hereafter
given, shall be duly proved, certified and registered as
sheriffs' bonds are now required to be, and certified copies
of the same, from the register's office, shall be received
and read in evidence in the like cases, and in like manner
as such copies of sheriffs' bonds are now allowed to be read
in evidence. [Itatified the 23d lay qf February, 1861.
EDUCATION.
AN ACT CONCEILNINo COMMON SCHOOLS IN NORn CAROLINA.  Chap. 19.
ECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the Repeals certain
State of North-Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the a
authority of the same, That the 35th section of the 66th
chapter of the Revised Codeof the State, and the 9th,
10th and 11th sections of chapter 11th of the acts of As-
seubly of 1S56-57, entitled an act concerning the common
schools in North Carolina, be and the same are hereby
repealed.
SEc. 2. And be it further enacted, That the district com- District Con.
nittees, how
mittee of common schools, to consist of three persons as appointed.
eretofore, and each of whom shall be a qualified voter of
the State, shall be appointed in the following manner, to
wit: The board of county superintendants of each county
shall annually meet on the third Monday in April, and
select committees for the several districts of their respec-
tive counties, in all cases where they have not been desig-
nated in the manner hereinafter provided ; and it may be
lawful for a majority of the parents and guardians of the
children entitled to the benefits of the common school
fund, and of the legal voters of every district to designate
by written petition, such persons as they desire for com-
