Newland, Nowbeoggin creek Bridge, or before the court house door
in Elizribeth City; mid further, it shall be the duty of guardians to,
set forth and describe in their advertisements and  at the time such
property is put ip at public vendue, the number of acres or'4gind and'
the repairs on said lnd, as well as the privileges of any  hld so of-
lered forisale, hiring or rentinga, and shall also produce on the day
of hiring, selling or renting, all slave or slaves which they may of--
fer. so that the hidders may see and examine them; and any gnar-
dian vIwho shall act contrary to the provisions of this act, shall forfeit,
the sine penaly that is now prescribed by law, for any irregularity
in silos, hirings or ratings, on he part of any sheriff; executor or
administrator: Provided, that unothing in this act, shaill le constrncd
to abridge the power of any court of chancery in any matter or
thing relating to orphans or theirestafts.
Sec. 2. lHe it further enacted, that this act shall go into effect
from and after its ratification; and that all laws and clauses of laws,
coming within the meaning and pnrview    of this act, be, and- the
same are hereby repealed.

Be it enacted by the GenerallAsseml'ly of the State of North Caroline,'
and it is hereby enacted by the authlovity of the same, That Samuel
Macky, a ilave, the property of John S. Pearson, of Cumberland county,
be, and lie is hereby, viih the consent and at the request of the raid ow-.
ver, emancipated and set free; and by the name of Samuel Macky, shall
Iereafler possess and exercise all the rights and privileges which are en.
joyed by othi'r free persons of color in ihis State : Provided neverthrldess,
Tihat b-I fore said slave shall he emanCipated, his said master shall give
bond and goodsecnrity to the Governor ail his successors in 'oice, inl
