CHAPTER CV.
An act to emancipate Horace a slave.
.e it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolitw
ied it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That Horace, a shre,
belonging t Lovedy Ann Henderson ofthe county of Wake, is hereby with
the consent, and at the request of his said owner, emancipated and set freej
and by the name of Horace Henderson, shall hereafter possess and exercise
all the rights and privileges which are, enjoyed by other free persons of col-
our within this State, provided nevertheless, that before such slave ,hall be
emancipated, the petitioner shall giv.e bond and good. security to the Gover-
nor and his successors in ofLee in the, County Court of Wake, that the eaid
slave shall honestly and correctly denan himself so long as he shall remain
in this Stale, and shall not become a pitris- charge, which bond may be -ued
moon in the name of the overnar for the time being to theuse of the par-
ih, and of kny person injured by the mal-conduct of such slave.
CHAPTER CVI. -
An act to divorce Polly iickner from her husband Edward Buckner.
Be it enacted by tihe General Assex4ly'of the State of North Carolina
and it is hereby enacted by the authority oftthe same, That Pollv Buckner
4f tle county of Buncoimbe be, aid she'll isreby divorced from the bonds
of matriiny'v with her huisnqnd Edward Buckner late of said county, in as
full and ample a mainer as if the same had never been entered into; and
that she be, and is hereby discharged from all duties, obligations and en-
gagements as a wife to the said Edward Buckner.
CHAPTE1R CVII.
-An act to amend an act passed in the ) ear one thousand eight hundred and twenty oa.
entitled an act to prevent' fire hunting of fowl in Carteret county.
Be it enacled, by the General Assembly of the State oj North Carolina,
and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That any person or

cited act, shal! be guilty of a misdenieanor, and may be indicted in the
County or Superior Courts for Carteret county, and on conviction may be
kned and impri-oned, not exceeding twenty dollars fine or thirty days iro-
prisonment; any law to the contrary ntrithlranding.
CHAPTER CVIII.
An act to restore to credit Thomas bayes of the county of Macon.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina,
dAd it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That front and after,
-he ppssag'- of this act Thomas Daves of ihe county of Macon be, and is
hereby restored to credit in as full and ample manner to all intents and pur-
poses as if the said Tho*nas Daves had never been convicted of any crimo
whatiever, and lie is hereby declared to be a competent witness to depose and
testily in all caseb where the same may be necessary: anv  aw  a
