Whalean the publication of an' accurate map at this State I an enterprise of great risk sandl expense, and requires much time, and is an object of Indispensable utility to the goverilnent of this State and its citizens at large; and whereas John Pilln has completed a soap of this State, except the ongraving, and that the same is now in the handsof Henry S. Tannier, a cele- brated map angraver of Philadelphia, and will he ready fordelivcryin a few monthis; and where- as the State made a loan or five thousand dialollars heretolore to the said John M'llie, two thou. sand dollars of which has been paid, under the expectation that he would he able to p:ay it (ut of the proceeds of the sale of his asp when completed, but which will he preventei by the lr.trinsiodilliculty and expense o! the project: Be It resolved therefore, That the Public Treasurer be instructed not to enforce the collec, tion of the boat of the said John APUtau, of three thousand dollars, due the first of December last, until the first of December next, unless the satety of the debt may require its eArlier cl. letion: and provided, that ho shall continue to renew the said bond in the muanner heretofore prescribed. Resolved That the Secretary of the State be directed to issue a grant of fatty acres of land to the heirs OF Colin Wi'ltae, deo'd, the purchase money having hern paid, as will allicar hy the duplicates and further, that the Secretary issue another grant of tilly acres of land to the lirs of Colin A'llae, deo'd, the purchase money of which has also been paid. Resolved, That tle Public Treasurer be instructed to pay to Green B. Palmer the snt of fifteen hundred dollars, for work done on Broad river, out of the fund set apart fur internal in- provements and that he he allowed the same in the settlement or his accounts. ,.Resolved further,Thatthe Governor is authorised to draw on said furnror the payment afore- easid, and the Treasurer is hereby directed to pay such order: Provided, however, that thie Faid Palmer shall releasie all demands against the State of North Carolina before said order shall be given and paId. Resolved by the Senate and House of Commons, That tie report of the committee of Fi- nance on the state of the Public Treasury, be printed and bound up with the laws passed kat this session of the General Assembly. Resolved, That the Public Treasurer pay to David L. Swain, Esq. the sum of ninety dollars, and to Itomanls M. Saunders, Esquire, the sum of twenty dollars, for their services in hilsdinig and attending a Court of Oyer and Terminer, which was called and held in the month of Ni. vember last, for the trial of certain slaves charged with insurrectiun and conspiracy in the coun- ty of Franklin. Resolved, That John M. Allen, sheriff of Montgomery county, be Illowed the stint of twelve dollars and eighty cents, for sixsty.four insolvent pollsallowed by the court of sald coins. ty. for his taxables for one thousand eight hundred and twenty-nine; and that the PublicTren- surer pay the same to the said Allen, for which sum he shall be allowed in the settlement of his acounts. Resolved, That the Governor be, and he is hereby requested to have all the maps, drafts and plans lately In the possession of the Engineer of thisStato, placed in his office; that such of them% as require repairs te repaired at the expense of the State, to be paid by the Treasurer, on the warrant of the Governor; and that they be kept under his direction, subject to any further dis- position of this General Assembly. Resolved, That the Governor be, and he Is hereby requested to employ an agent to arrange in proper order all the papers belonging to the Senate and House of Common@, and others hich were saved during the late contlagration of the State House; that lie cause them to tie de- livered to the proper officers of the State; and that the expense attending this duty be paid lay the Public Treasurer, an the warrant of the Governor. Be it resolved, That the Public Treasurerpay to Elizabeth Forbis the sum of forty dollara, in consideration of the revolutionary services at her husband Arthur Forbis, who was mortally.. wounded at the battle of Guilford, out of any monics in the Treasury not otherwise approprlit- ad1 and that he be allowed the same in the settlement of his public accounts.
