of this act, the Court of Pleas,and Quarter Sessions for the county of Prson
shall be held on the third Monday of March, June, September and December,
in each and every year.
l[. ad be it/arther enacted, That all process from the last term of the said
County Court shall be extended to, and returned to the court to be hold under
this act on the third Monday of March next.
CHAPTER CXLT.
An an act to repeal part of an act, passed in the year one thou.and eight hundred and
twenty, entitled '' an act to establish separate Courts of Probate for the counties of
Pasquotank tod Rutherford, and for other purposes.
Be it cnactedt by the Generald.ssembly of the State of North-Carolina, and it
is hereby cnacted'by the authority of the same, That sn mouch of the above re-
cited act as .'cquires Courts ol' Probate to be held in) the county of Pasquo-
tank, in any other month than in the month of February, be and the same is
hereby repealed.
CIAPTER CXLIT.
An act concerning the militia of the county of Montgomery.
Be it enarted by the Generald.ssembly of the Slate of North-C(arolbia, and it
is hereby enacted by the authority of the sane, That the Court of Pleas and
Quarter Sessions of the county of Montgomery be, and they are hereby autho-
rised and empowered, should they deemn it expedient, to appoint three com-
missioners for the purpose of contracting for fitteen acres of land, at or within
four miles of the court house, on terms the most reasonable, and at a place the
most suitable for mustering.
11. Be it further enacted, That the said court be, and they are hereby au-
thorised to lay a tax on the inhabitants of said county suflicient to defray the
expense which may be incurred by the provisions of this act.
CHAPTER CXLIll.
Anl act to incorporate University lodge, in the county of Orange.
He it cnacted bY the General.ssenmbly of the State of Aort-/ La lina, and it
is hereby enacted by the authority oj' the same, That the Master, Wardens and
Members which at present are, or in future may be of University Lodge,
number eighty, in Orange county, are hereby constituted and declared to be a
body corporate, under the name atId style of University Lodge, number eighty;
and by that name shall have perpetual succession and a common seal, may
sue and be sued, plead and be unpleadel, acquire and transfer property, and
pass all such bye-laws and regilations, as shall not be inconsistent with the-
constitution and laws of this State, or of the United States.
CTTAPTER CXLIV.
An act to provide more eflectually for the poor of Tyrrell county.
Be it enacted by the General.qsYcncmbly of the State of' 'orth- Carolina, and it
is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the wardens of the poor
of the county of Tyrrell, at their iirst meeting that shall happen after tie first
day of April next, be, and they are hereby required to lay an additional tax,
not exceeding ten cents, on every free and black poll, andI the like sum on
every three hundred dollars value of land, to be collected and applied to the
use and maintenance of the poor of said county, under the same rules, regula*
tions and restrictions, heretofore prescribed by law; any law or usage to the
Contrary notwithstanding.
