Be it enacted by the General dssenbly of the State of Nrti-Carolina, and it ;, hereb'y eucted by the authority of the same, That so much of the acts of one thousand eight hundred and twenty, one thousand eight hundred and twenty- one, and one thousand eight hundred and twenty two, directing lie manner in which property levied on by Sherills and Constables shall be sold, be, and the same is hereby repealed, so far as relates to the county of Gates, except. ing only such executions as may issue fron any other county; which execu- tions shall be collected ini manner as heretofore prescribed. CIAPTER XXXVII. An act to change the time oflaying the County Taxes of Craven county, and appointing receivers of lists of taxables in said county. Be it enacted by the General Aissembly ofthe State of North-Carolina, and it is herchy enacted b 11he authority of the sane, h'lat the taxes to be laid for coun- ty purposes by the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions ofCraven county, shall hereafter be laid at the February Sessions of said Court, under the same rules, regulations and restrictions as by law now are or may be prescribed. 11. le it further enacted, [hat the appointment of Justices to receive the list of taxables in the county of Craven, shall be made at the February Ses- sions of said Court. CHAPTER XXXVIII. An actto incorporate Morning Star Lodge,in the town of Nashville, Nash county. le it enactedby the General.fGssenibly of the State ofiNorth-Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the Master, Wardens, and Members, who at preserit are, or in future may be, of Morning Star Lod-e number eighty-five, Nashville, Nash county, are hereby constituted and e- clared a body corporate and politic, under the name and title of Morning Star Lodge, number eighty-five, anti, by that name, shall have perpetual suc- ecssion and a common seal; may sue and be sued, plead and be inpleaded, ac- quire and hold, alien, and transfer property, and pass all such rules, regula- tions and bye-laws, as shall not be inconsistent %% ith the constitution and laws of this State, or of the United States; and in all things to enjoy and exercise the powers and privileges usually belonging and appertainig to corpora- tions aggregate.
