An Act to cmancipate Sally Zimnermnan, a slave belonging to the estate of Andrew
Caldcltlegh, deceased, late of ]Iowan County.
Whereas the said Andrew Caldlengh, in and by his last will. did
devise that a female slave, called and known by the namie of Sally
Zimmermaii, a child of tender years, should be emainipated aid set
free ; al whereas the executors of the said Andrew Caldelenigh. by
and with the consent of the heirs at law, and residnary l'gatre iof the
said Andrew Caldcloiugh, have petitionied this General Assembly to
carry the will or the said Andrew into effect as it relates to the said
nlave:.
Therefore be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of .Mnrth.
Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by t a;thority of the same,
That from and alter the ratith'alion ol' this act, the said slate Sally
shall be, and hereb y is emaicipated, and set free fromt slavery, fully
and absolotiely, and shall be called and knowni by the name of Sally
Zi mmnermnan.
