Be it enacted byt the General AsSeibly of the State of Commission- North-Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority 9r f the .same, That Alexander Torrence and Hugh NV. rawley, h, and they are hereby appointed Coninis- sioners to view and lay offa public road froma Salisbu'ry to Beattie's Ford, otn the (atawha river, ol 'the best groid the interi'v enin country %%ill aibflrd ; and the said Iats of said Colnuissiones shall certily two fair. plats of the road so eo filed laid off an Illt marked by thte, and file one in each of the Courts of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of Rowan and Ire- dell counties, and when thus certified and filed, the said, Courts shall appolint Overseers tin said road in their re- spetive counties, and,it shall be opened and kept up as- other pulic roadk. 11.
