the minor children of Douglass S. King, 'deceased, to is 11

SEcTrIo  1. Be it'enacted by the Leghlatume of
the State of Mississippi, That Mrs. Mairia E, Wad-
Iingion, of the coiity ofYazoo,.guar:iian of ie
minor children 'of Douglass S. King,' deceased, be
and she is hereby aiuthorized and empowered to sell
for cash, either publicly or privately, a portion of
thenegro slaves belonging to her said wards, and
to invest the proceeds' ther~of in land for the use
and ben6fiv of her -said warqs.,
Szc. 2.,Be 'it farther egactd, That,,the ,said
guardian shall take the tifle to any land purchased
under'theprovisions.,of the Gfr'sts'ection of this. act,
in the name of her wards or in her own name, 4s
their guardian, and shall be subject to the control
and supervision of the Probate Court of the county
in which the land so purcliased may be situated, in
acco'dance with existing laws and with suchbond
for the faithful performance of the provisions of
this act, as shall be apr.oved of by the, Probate
Judge of Yazoo county.
$Eq. 3. Be it further' enacted, That, this. act
shall be in foice from nad after its passage.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the.
State of Mississipfi,-That. the sum of two mil-
lions four hundred thousand dollars ,be and the
same is hereby appropriated odt of any money hot
appropriated, or so' uuch thereof 'as may be 'neces-
sary for the payment *of the troops, dfficers and
men engaged in the military service of thb State,
embrabing the bounty, outfit, and maintenance of
