thb Governor, which bond shall be filed in the
office of the Auditor of Public Accounts; and if
an agent or agents shall be appointed for a county,
he or they shall be required to enter into bond in
the penal sum of five thousand dollars, with secu-
rity to be approved by the President of the Board
of Police of the proper county,. and said bond
shall be filed and recorded in the Probate Clerk's
office of the proper county, and shall be condi-
tioned that the agent will disburse the money,
which may be by him received, according to law,
and faithfully discharge the duties of his office.
SEC. 5. Be it further enacted, That this act take
effect from its passage.

OHAPTER XIV.
AN ACT to further provide for the public defense.
SECTTON 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of
the State of Mississippi, That the Governor be,
and he is hereby atithoi'ized and empoweed to
turn over to Captain V. L. Terrell, for the use of
his command now in the Confederate service, two
Hughes' breech-loading guns, with harness, am mu-
nition, etc., for the same, taking his receipt condi-
tioned for the safe keeping and return of the same
after the close of the present war, or at the expi-
ration of the term of serxico of said command.
SEC. 2. Be it further eliacted, That the Govern-
or shall also be empowered as above. to turn over
a suitable number of sabres and pistols to arm the
gunners employed in the use of said guns, and that
this act take effect from and after its passage.
