CHAPTER IX.
AN ACT regulating the payment of Taxes into the Stato!
and County Treasuries.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the
State 'of Mississippi, That the Colectors of the
State and county revenues of the counties of this
State, shall pay over all taxes collected for the
State or county, to the State or County Treasurer.
that shall have been collected by them respectively,
by the first day of April, 1861, within thirty days
after that period, and if any Collector shall fail to'
do so, he or they, failing to do so, shall be subject
and liable to all the damages, pains and penalties,
imposed upon such officers for such failures, by the
existing revenue laws of this State.

CHAPTER X.
AN ACT making certain appropriations therein named'
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature oj t'hi
State of Mississippi, That the following sums be
allowed and paid out of any money in the Treasury
not otherwise appropriated, to-wit:
ART. 1. To Jeffrey, per negro man, for services to.
the Legislature during the sessions of Nov., 1859,
and January, 1860, and its present session, one
hundred and six dollars and fifty cents, being at:
the rate of one dollar and fifty cents per day.
ART. 2. To E. Barksdale, the sum of two hun-
dred and sixty-two dollars and eighty cents, for
printing the Governor's Message, printing pay
warrants, ayes and nays, and for the Daily Missis-
sippian.
ART. 3. To C. R. Diukson, Postmaster of Jack-
son, the sum of one hundred dollars, for postage
per order of the Legislature.
ART. 4. To A. Reed, for five days services to:
House Representatives, the sum of seven dqlars
and fifty cents.
AR. 5. To Isaac Hendricks, the sum of seven
dollars and fifty cents, for services to the House of
Representatives and two dollars for paste.
ART. 6. To George Murrell, ton dollars for fihe.-
days services as page at the present session.
