Jacobs and WilliamsH. H. Jacobs, minor heirs of the late Christopher Holly and of the late Matilda Jacobs, free persons of African blood, residing in the county of Clai- borne, State of Mississippi. WHEREAS, It has been represented to the Leg- islature of the State of Mississippi, that said mi- nors are about to leave the said State, and take up their residence in some other State; that there are eight heirs of said Holly and Matilda Jacobs, five of whom are over the age of twenty-one years, and have sold their undivided interests and shares in the real mnd personal estates of said decedents; and that said minors have no guardians of their persons and estates; therefore, SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of .lfississippi, That Sarah C. Jacobs, a free woman of African blood, nineteen years of age, residing now lawfully in the county of Clai- borne, aforesaid, be, and is hereby declared to be capable of suing and being sued, and of making contracts in relatirn to, and taking possession of her property; and, with the approval of Thomas W. Broughton, hereinafter named, of alienating and conveying the same, at her discretion, in as full 'and ample manner, and to all intents and pur- poses, as if she were of the age of twenty-one years, and were a citizen of this State.
