AN ACT to change the venue of the trial of certain slaves, from the' county of Sunflower to that of Carroll. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of change of the State of Mississippi, That the venue of the trial venue. of the slaves, indicted in the county of Sunflower at the last term of the Circuit Court thereof, for the murder of Robert Beverly in said county, be, and the same is hereby changed to the county of Carroll: Provided, that the individuals indicted as aforesaid, assent to the same in open court, said assent to be given either in the county of Sunflower or Carroll. SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the clerk of the Circuit Court of said county of Sunflower be, and he is hereby required to transmit to the Transmit clerk of the Circuit court of said county of Carroll, indictment the indictment or indictments against said slaves, and a transcript of the record of all proceedings had in the Circuit Court of Sunflower in connection therewith, in time for the session of the next Circuit Court in said county of Carroll. SEC. 3. Be it further enacted, That the clerk of the said Circuit Court of Carroll county be, and he is hereby to issue all process that may be neces- sary in the trial of said slaves, and the said Circuit Court of Carroll county, is hereby invested with full power and jurisdiction therein. SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. Approved February 1, 1850. CHAPTER 139. AN ACT relating to the drawing of jurors in the county of Claiborne. WHEREAS, irregularities have occurred in the draw- ing of the regular jurors in the said county of Claiborne, which require to be corrected by law: Therefore, SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of .the State of Mississippi, That as soon as conveni- ently may be, after the passage of this act,the clerk of :the Circuit Court of the county of Claiborne shall set 239-
