AC16. Approved,. July 26, 1843. CHAPTER 51. AN ACT for the relief of Joseph Leonard, a minor. SECTION 1. Be it enacted hly the Legislature of the Slate of Mississ'ppi, That the Judge of the Pro- bate Court of Adams county be, in his discretion, and he is hereby authorized; if it appear for the in- 'terest of said minor, Joseph Leonard, upon and after the rendition of.good and sufficient security for the pioperty and the hire thereef, by Loxley L. Thistle, master of the estate of Joseph Leonard, a minor, to hire to the said Thistle the negroes of the estate of said Leonard, to be by the said Thistle employed up- on his plantation, in Louisiana; the hire of such ne- 'groes to be applied annually, by commissioners ap- pointed'by the said Judge of Probate, the said This- tle to account t4 the.said Judge of Probate, as if the property remained in this State. SEC. 2 Be it further enactd, That if the said Judge of Probate deem it for the nterest-of said mi- nor, he is hereby authorized to hire said negroes to any-other pefson than said trustees in this State- or Louisiana, taking security for the property and hire thereof, and causing the hire' to be assessed tnd* to be accounted for as provided in the first section.
