Be it enacted by the Legislature ofPresident the State of Mississippi, That the President and md sele Selectmen of the .owai of Wood-ville mr ay raise by levy atax tax, in eachyear, a sum not exceeding the amount offor repair itig the the State tax on all such real and personal proper- strect, ty, (sales of merchandize excepted,) situated or kept within the limits of said town, as is liable to taxation by the laws of the State , and may appro- priate the same to the repair of the streets and walks, and such improvements as they may deem necessary, and to defray other necessary expenses of said corporation. Sec. 2.
