tion and bequests, or -otherwise, any real and per-
sonal estate, not exceeding in value five thousand
dollars, and to sell and dispose of the same at their Their
will and pleasure ; and may hold the church and 9
lot of ground on withich it stands, and any other
property, real or personal, which may have been
conveyed to them before this act of incorporation,
not exceeding the aforesaid amount; and that the
said trustees and.their successors,  their corpo-
rate name and style aforesaid, shalliAve power and
authority, and are herebydeclared liable to sue and
be sued, plead and be- impleadedii all courts of
law and equity in this State.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said
trustees shall have power to fill any vacancy which
may occur from time to time in their body, or di- porers
rect how such, vacancy shall be filled; and they
may make such by-laws, rules and regulations as
they may deem necessaryfor their government~and
for the interest of said institution, not repugnant to
the constitution and laws of this State, or of the
United States.

AN ACT, to revive an act entitled %t An act to reduce into one the

Sec. 1. .Be it enacted by the Senate and House
of Representatwes of the state of Mississippi, in
General Assembly convened, That the ninety-eighth
chapter of the Revised Code of the Stite of Mis-
sissippi is hereby declared to be in full force and
effect.
Sec. 2. 4nd b'e it firther enacted, That it
,shall be the duiy 9f the' several militia officers com-
manding companies, to appoint, once in every three
months, patrol detachments in their respective
beats, agreeably to the ptovisions of the act to
which this is an amendment.
