think best, and apply the proceeds of such sale to

children of the said James Dixon: Provided,
that if the said land shall be sold on a credit, the
said Elizabeth Dixon shall take from the pur-
chaser a note or notes, with f;ood and sufficieno
security, to secure the payment thereof.

See. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House ofRepresenta-
cves of he State oflMississippi,in General Assembly convened,
That James P. Parker and Elias Ogden, of the
town of Port Gibson be, and they are hereby au-
thorized and empowered, to emancipate from sla-
very, a negro woman named Hannah, saving the
rights ofereditors: Prorided, that the same James
P. Parker and Elias Ogden, shall enter into bond,
with approved security, in the penal sum of one
thousand dollars, payable to the Judge of Pro-
bate of Claiborne county ; conditioned for her
good behavior, and that she shall not become a
public charge.: And provided also, that Port Gib-,
son shall be her place of residence.
