CHAP. V.
AN ACT, for the relief of William Turner.
Sec. 1 Be it enacted by the Senate and House
of Representatives of the State of Mississippi,
in General Assembly convened, That the Coun-
ty Court of Lawrence County be, and they are
hereby authorized to audit the claim of William
Turner, for keeping Adam Howell, a pauper of
said county, nine months.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and house
qf Representatives of the State of .1Iississippi,
in General Assembly convened, That John W.
Thompson, of Claiborne county be, and he is
hereby authorized and empowered, to emanciI'ate
from slavery, a negro man, named Samuel Mar-
tin, saving the rights of c reditors, provided that
the said John W. 'liompson do enter into bond,
with approved su ority, in the sum of one thou-
.aaud dollars, payable to the Judge of Probate of
