Real estate of minors sold for delinquent taxes may be redeemed upon the payment, of what. Be it enacted by the General .dssembly of the State of Missouri, as follows : § 1. That any lands, city or town lots, belonging to minors or in which they may have an interest, which may have heretofore been sold for taxes due thereon, and bid in by the State, or which are now delinquent for taxes, may be redeemed at any time within two years from the passage. of this act, upon the payment of the amount of the taxes, with six per cent. interest thereon and costs. This act to take effect and be in force from the date of its passage. Approved February 20, 1865. MISCELLANEOUS: AFRICAN DESCENT-PERSONS OF. AN ACT to repeal certain acts and parts of acts relating to persons of African descent. WHEREAS, The people of the State of Missouri, in convention assem- bled, have solemnly ordained that there shall be neither slavery nor involuntary servitude in this State, except in punishment for crime, whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, and that all persons held to service or labor as slaves shall be free ; and, whereas, the Governor of this State, by authority of the supreme executive power vested in him by the constitution thereof, has issued his proclamation, declaring that no person within the jurisdiction of this State shall ever be subject to any aoridg- ment of his liberty, except such as the law shall prescribe for the common good, or know any master but God; and, whereas, also it is right and proper that this Legislature should 'conform its action to the manifest will of the people, by repealing all laws recognizing the right of property in man, or intended to protect or perpetuate the institution of slavery in this State; therefore, Be it enacted by the General ./1ssembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: § 1. That so much of sections 13, 36, 45, 60, 61, 62 and 63 of article 63
