party for which said property is held
may be promoted thereby.
WHEREAS, Ninian W. Letton, formerly of Lafayette county, Missouri, did
by his certain deed of trust, dated 20th day of July, A. D. 1847, and
which is duly recorded in the Recorder's office of said county, convey
and sell certain real and personal estate, namely : Lots numbered one
and two, in block number thirty-five, in the addition to the town of
Lexington in said county; and also a certain negro woman, slave,
named Kitty Ann, and her two children, William  and Viney, to Wil-
liam T. Winsor, in trust for the sole ana separate use of said Tabitha
Ann Letton and her children then in being, and for such others as may
be born from the marriage of said Tabitha Ann, and her said husband
Ninian W. Letton: And, whereas, said William T. Winsor, has long
since departed this life; and, whereas, the Circuit Court of said Lafayette
county appointed Arnold T. Winsor, trustee, to fill the vacancy occa-
sioned by the death of said William T. Winsor, in order to manage and
superintend said trust property, and carry out said trusts   And,
whereas, several other children have, since the date of said dee 1, been
born of said marriage, and are nov living : And, whereas, said Tabi-
tha Ann Letton and her husband and family, have removed from the
State of Missouri, and it is thought best by her friends to have the
trust property sold, and the proceeds re-invested in real estate, or in
bank stock, in the State in which she now resides, or in some sure and
profitable investment ; therefore,
Be it enacted by the General .1ssembly of the State of Missouri, as
follows:
§ 1. That Arnold T. Winsor, trustee for said Tabitha Ann, as afore-
said, for said real estate and said negro woman, Kitty Ann, and her increase
as aforesaid,,be and he is hereby authorized to sell said town lot, and said
negro woman and her children, and every increase of said Kitty Ann, since
the date of said deed, either at public or private sale, and that he be an-
thorized to invest the funds arising from any sale he shall make of said lots
and negroes, or any part of them, in real estate, or in bank stock, or in
any other sure and profitable investment, in the State of Illinois or else-
where, as shall be deemed by said trustee and his sister, said Mrs. Tabitha
Ann LAtton, most prudent and advisable, for the benefit of herself and her
children.
§ 2. That said Arnold T. Winsor, trustee of said property, is hereby
authorized to cause the title of any property in which he may invest the
proceeds of the trust property he may sell by virtue of this act, to be made
to himself as trustee, or to any other person whom Mrs. Tabitha Ann Let-
ton may require the same to be conveyed in trust; and the said Arnold T.
Winsor, as such trustee, or the other person chosen by Mrs. Letton as trus-
tee, shall have power to sell, transfer, and convey, any such trust property,
