McDaniel, guardian and curator for the person and ,property of John P. McDaniel, minor hir of Preston G. McDaniel, de- ceased, late of Osage county, is hereby authorized and empowered to hire out the slaves and rent the real estate of his said ward, privately, and make all necessary repairs, without making annual application to the County Court of said county, or receiving an order, or consulting the 'aid court in rela- ,tion thereto. 6 2. Said John J. McDaniel, guardian and curator as aforesaid, is 'hereuy fither authorized to retain and keep in his own possession the negro girl Harriet, belonging to the estate of his said ward, and which said slave is in infirm health, without paying or accounting for her services Provided, That the said John J. lcDaniel shall well and humanely treat the said slave 11 Harriet, furnish her all necessary food and raiment, and shall also board his said ward. John P. McDaniel, free of charge. § 3. The said John J. McDaniel, in order to entitle himself to the pro- visions of this act, shall first obtain an order from the Osage County Court giving assent thereto; and upon obtaining the assent of said court, lie shall also annually thereafter present to the same a full and complete statement of his proceedings under this act, verified by his affidavit, showing the re- ceipts and expenditures [or repairs, as well on whatever account the same Imay be ; and on the arrival of his said ward at the years of maturity, the ,said John J. McDaniel shall make final settlement with the County Court or court there having probate jurisdiction, in the same manner that he would now be required by law to do ; but the County Court of said countv aOll have power at any time during the minority of the said ward hereinbefurs men- tioned, and whenever they shall consider that his best interest requires it, to revoke the order giving assent to this act, and to compel the said guardian or curator to proceed in all respects as he is now required by law to do.
