Be it enacted by the General A/ssembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: § 1. That so much of the preamble to the act, entitled An act for the relief of Elizabeth Denny, Harriet Dcnny, and John A. Denny, approved February 27, 1857, that describes the north-east quarter of the south-east quarter of section eight, in township thirty-four, of range twenty-threo, be amended so as to read, the north-east quarter of the north-east quarter of section thirty-one, of township thirty-nine, of rango twenty-three. This act to be in force from and after its passage. Approved February 18, 1859. AN ACT for the benefit of D. T. Lauderdale, Collector of McDonald county. Be it enacted by the General .dssembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: § 1. The Register of Lands is hereby authorized and required to receive and file the delinquent land list for McDonald county, for the year 1858, and certify the amount thereof to the Auditor of Public Accounts, as a credit to D. T. Lauderdale, Collector of said county; Provided, Said list shall be returned to the Register's office, on or before the first day of March, 1859. This act to take effect from its pa-sage. Approved February 18, 1859. AN ACT for the relief of James H. Howard, Sheriff of New Madrid county. WHEREAS, It is represented to the General Assembly that one Barton A. Lucas, and Benjamin Johnson, was confined in jail at New Madrid, in New Madrid county ; also, at the same time, a negro man taken, up ind committed to said jail as a runaway, in che year eighteen hundwid ifi fifty-eight, for grand larceny; the said Lucas and Johnson brolke jail, taking said negro with -hem ; said Sheriff fered a reward for the apprehension and delivery of said Lucas and Johnson, and for said runaway negro ; also hired men to go in pursuit of same, one of which was captured; the other one, and negrc, made their escape ; that the reward and expenses paid out for the apprehension of the one, was one hundred and thirty-seven dollars ; also paid eight dollars for advertising said negro, and twelve dollars for finding same ; therefore, Be it enacted by the General .Issembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: § 1. That the sum of one hundred and fifty-seven dollars is hereby 172 RELICF.
