Be it enac/ed by the Gencral Issembly of the Stale of Missouri, as follows : § 1. That Archibald W. Turner, of Boone county, one of the executors of Robert M. Allen, deceased, late of said county, be, and he is herchy, authorized to sell all the slaves belonging to sail deceased, except those specifically devised to his wiulow, at public sale, at such time and place and upon such terms as he may deem advisable, first giving at least twenty days' notice of the time and place and terms of sale, by advertisement in soine newspaper published in the county where such sale shall be had. § 2. The proceeds arising frcm the sale of said slaves shall be adminis- tered and distributed in like manner as said slaves would have been under and by virtue of the last will and testament of the said Robert M. Allen, deceased. L 3. Said executor shall be responsible upon his oflicial bond for the forticoziing and faithful application of the money arising from the sale hereinbefore authorized, in like manner as if the same had been authorized under and by virtue of the last will of the said deceased. § 4. That the said A. W. Turner be, and he is hereby, further authorized to sell six certain other slaves, (to wit,) a woman named Mary, and her four children ; also a woman named Fanny ; said slaves belonging, the undivided one-half thereof, to Jonathan B. Gardner, and the remaining half to Ann C. Gardner, Samuel D. Gardner, Mary R. Gardner, and Rebecca B. Gardner, upon such terms and at such time and place and with like notice, as hereinbefore provided. § 5. That said A. W. Turner, after deducting the expenses of the sale last aforesaid, shall pay over one-half of the proceeds arising therefrom to MINORS. 111
