This act shall take effect from and after its passage. Approved March 4, 1857. BELL SLAVE. AN ACT to authorize Mary Ann Campbell to sefl a certain negro slave. ( 1. Authorize Mary Ann Campbell to sell ( 2. Sale, how made. a certain negro slave. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: § 1.- That Mary Ann Campbell, of Clay county, is hereby authorized to sell, and transfer to the purchaser, a negro man slave named Stephen, the joint property of herself and her infant children, William Campbell, Abraham Campbell, Vincent Campbell, Mary Campbell, and George Campbell; any law or laws to the contrary notwithstanding. § 2. - Said sale shall be made under the direction of the County Court of Clay county, and shall be conducted in the same manner that sales of real estate, by administrators, are directed to be made by the existing laws of this State.
