Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: § 1.- The Auditor of Public Accounts is hereby authorized and re- quired to draw his warrant on the Treasurer, in favor of M. K. Howell, for the sum of five dollars and ninety-five cents, it being an excess paid by him into the treasury, on account of sales made by him of delinquent lands, as sheriff of Harrison county for the year 1852. § 2. - S. C. Allen is hereby authorized to draw his warrant upon the State treasury for the aforesaid amount of five dollars and ninety-five cents. This act to take effect from and after its passage. Approved February 12, 1857. AN ACT for the benefit of John K. Heath and Samuel Heath, of Marion county. ( 1. Guardian authorized to sell certain ( 3. To be applied to the purchase of real slaves, estate and education of children. 2. Terms of sale; proceeds, how applied. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: § 1.-James L. Kinkead, guardian of John K. Heath and Samuel Heath, minors, of Marion county, is hereby authorized to sell a negro woman and her four children, the property of said minors, and apply the proceeds of such sale, as is hereinafter directed. § 2.- The sale of said negroes may be made publicly or privately, and on such terms as the County Court of Marion county may, by order, direct; and such portion of the money arising from such sale as said Court may direct, shall be invested in real estate for the benefit of said minors, and the residue applied in educating said minors. § 3.-The money arising from the sale of said negroes, shall, in good faith, be applied for the purchase of real estate, or in educating said minors, and for no other purpose whatever; Provided, That the portion set apart for educational purposes may be loaned at interest, from time to time, as said Court may direct. This act to take effect, and be in force, from and after. its passage. Approved February 9, 1857.
