1. No person to sell liquors in a
quantity less than a gallon,
without a dram-shop license
2. A dram-shop keeper defined.
3. No dram-shop keeper to keep
a drmoi-shop at more than
one place at the saie time,
&e.
4. Not to sell liquor to slaves with-
out written permission.
5. Debts for liquor not recover-
able.
0. Applications for license to be
made, in writing, to county
court. Statement, &c. Court
to grant license. Proviso.
7. Applicant for license as dram-
shop keeper shall deliver a
statement to court or clerk,
verified byaffidavit, ofnmount
of stock, &c. _Ad valorern
tax.
8. Applicant to give bond before
license granted; condition of
the bond.
9. Tax on licenses to be deter-
mined by county court.
10. Court not to grant license for
the year succeeding, if re-
monstrated against by ma-
jority of city, town or muni-
cipal township.
11. Clerk to deliver statement of
licenses to 0o collector, and
charge him therewith.
12. Duty of collector.
13. No license to issue until col-
lector's receipt is produced.
14. Clerk may grant licenses in va-
cation, to continue till next
term, &e.
15. On renewal of such license, no
additional ad valorem shall
be imposed.
16. Clerk to report to county court
the number of licenses grant-
ed by him in vacation.
17. No slave permitted to sell in-
toxicating liquors.
18. Liquors may be sold at the place
where made, but not to be
drank about the premises.
10. Penalty for violating preceding
sections.
20. Judge to give this act in charge
to grand jury.
21. Every civil officer to give in-
formation of the violation of
this act. To arrest persons
guilty of violation thereof;
to take them before a justice,
&c.
22. Circuit attorneys, &e., to take
care that the penalties under
this act be strictly and
promptly enforced, &e.
23. Proceedings against slaves for
selling liquor. Punishment
therefor.
24. Incorporated towns and cities
may impose a tax on dram-
shops; extent thereof.
25. This aet not to affect the right
of merchants to sell liquors.
20. Liability of dram-shop keepers
for selling to minors or slaves
without permission; suitmay
be against him, or on his
bond.
27. Violation of preceding provi-
sion by a clerk, &c., deemed
the act of the keeper.
