dollars, with power to sell and convey the same, and may use a, common seal
in all transactions to which said corporation is a party.
§ 2. That the fiscal, prudential and all other concerns of said society,
except in cases where the same may otherwise direct by its constitu-
tion, by-laws or other regulations, shall be under the control and manage-
ment of a president and seven directors, to be chosen annually by the
individuals composing said society, each member thereof having a right to
vote in person for said president, directors and othqr officers.
§ 3. Said president and directors shall have power to require of the
treasurer or other officer of the society, bond, with security, for the faith-
ful discharge of his duties, payable to said president, directors and society,
and for any failure of duty as said officer, may put said bond or bonds in
suit, in the same manner that suits may be brought against other public
officers.
§ 4. Said society shall have power to adopt and enforce a constitution
and all necessary by-laws, rules and regulations for its government, and
for the promotion of the objects for which it is designed; provided, the
same be not inconsistent with the constitution and laws of this state.
. § 5. That the president and directors shall have power to enforce the
collection of the sums fixed by said society as the annual contribution of
each member.
§ 6. The constitution and by-laws which have been adopted by said
society, and which are now in force, if not inconsistent with the constitu-
tion and laws of this state, are hereby declared binding upon the officers and
members thereof, with the same force and effect as if they had been adop-
ted subsequent to the passage of this act.
§ 7. All money paid by members or others to the society, shall be
appropriated in such manner as said society may deem best, for the
advancement and encouragement of agriculture, horticulture, the rais-
ing of the best animals, and the production of such other articles of
domestic growth or manufacture as it may regard proper.
This act to be in force from and after its passage.
