Winituis, It is represented to the General Assembly
of Maryland, that Archibald G. Iidgely, of the *city of
Baltimbre, sbme tithe abo'ut the first day of thl lircsent
month, killed a fugtive slave -ih Lancaster' county,'
Pennsylvania ; And wihereas, it is believed tlia'the
circumstances under which the said deed was.done' do
not constitute the killing nuder, or any other h oii-
cidc, punishable by law, and that thsecase iresdnts'a:
ftir opportunity for the friendly inltcipositiofi0 ff the
State of Maryland with the authorities of Penriylv'iiii;.
Therefore,
Resolved by'the General Assembly of illar.ylaud,
That the Governor be, and lie is hereby directed to
appoint a commissioner, or commissioners, in his dis-
cretion, to collect all the facts and circumstances con-
nected with the killing of the fugitive slave in Lancas..
ter county Pennsylvania, by Archibald G. Ridgely, of
Baltimore city, and to confer with tie Governor of
Pennsylvanin relative to the same.

Resolutions relative to the Books of he Comnmission r of Passed Mareh
Loans.                     18, 1852.
WHEREAS, by the operatiohl of the Constituii6n', thie
offce of Commissioner of Loans is abolished, and it is
therefore necessary that the books and papers belonging
to the office of the Commissioner of Loans be transferred
to the office of the Treasurer, Therefore ;
Resolved, That a joint committee of the two houses
of the General Assembly, consisting of one member of
the Senate, and two minbers of the House of Delegates.
be appointed, who shtll proceed to examine the books
and accounts of the late Commissioner of Loans, prepa..
ratory to the delivery thereof to the Treasuret of' the
State.                             .     .  ..
Resolved, That the late Commissionier'of-Loans-b6
requested, (after theosaid books and accounts shall Itive
been examined by the said committee,) to transport 'the
same to Annapolis and deliver them to the Tretisurer.
