Be it enacted by the General Assembly of AIf:ryland, That the deed of manumission executed by William Moctt, late of Deed co Kent count, deceased, hearing date on the thirteenth day of September, eighteen hundred and twenty-two, and recorded among the records of the county aforesaid, as appears by the certificate of the clerk of said county, be, and the same is here- by confirmed, and made valid and effectual in law, to all in- tents and purposes whatsoever; and the said manumission here- tofore executed and recorded, shall have full forc and etiect to liberate and set free the negroes therein mentioned, at the seve- ral times or periods therein limited; anl in all respects have the same operation as if the same had been by the said Williani Moffett, deceased, executed, acknovledged, and recorded, agreeably to the acts of assembly in such case made and pro- vidcd: Provided always, Tht nothing herein contained shall be Provis. so construed as to effect the rights of any person having cl:iins -upon the estate of the said William Moffett, deceased, or to pre. judice the rights of an)' purchaser of any of the said negroes un- der a boni fide sale. CHAPTER 146. An act, regulating Fences in Ilarford county. Snc. 1. Be it enacted by the Gen~ral Assembly of Mlaryland, Tl;at coin-fields and all grounds kept for enclosures, shall be fenced vith a post and rail fence, or worm fence well staked and ridt.r. ed, inade of good and substantial rails, at least four fect and a half high from the groundl to the top of the upper rail; and all worm fences not staked and ridered shall be at leait five feet hit;h from the ground to the top of the upper rail, and the firs; or un- der rail, either in post and rail or worm fences, shall not exceed five inrches from the ground, or embankment or stone wvall,as the case may be, on which the same is or shall be built; and the width between the rails composing the fence, shall be such as is usual in the construction of.good post and ra:l, or worm fence; and all fences made of stone exclusively,anti hedges of thorn clos,- set, shall be at least four feet and an half high from the ground to the top thereof; and all brush fnces niade upon the surfat of' the ground to be at least four fe, t 9i ' inches high, and all hrusL fences made upon an embankment to he at least three fret high, provided the embankment be eighteen inchcs high,and provided that nothing in this art contained shall be so construed as to ex- tend to other than outsid fences or fences hetween diffcrent pro- pritors.
