Armastead, that he is a Colonel in the army of the United States, and that the house provided by the government for him to live in, is not within the limits of Fort Washington, at which post he is stationed, but within the limits of Prince-George's county, hnmediately adjoining the fort works, and that he the said Walker K. Armstead is desirous of bringing into this state a negro ser- vant nameld John, and to retain the said servant, so long as he re- reains a resident of this state-Therefore, Suc. 1. Armstead, be, and he is hereby authorised and em- his !lave Johm. powered, at any time after the passage of this act, to remove and bring into this state the negro slave John, and that the removal of said slave, and bringing him into the state of Marvland, shall not be deemed or taken, or in any manner be construed or operate, to entitle him to freedoni-Provided, That the said negro, when re- Provlio. moved agreeably to the provisions of this act, shall be recorded in the records of Prince-George's county court, within three months after his arrival in said county. 2. That all such parts of the act entitled, An act for changing the name of Charles-tL'own in Charles county to that of Port Tobacco; for securing the titles of proprietors of lots and houses therein, and for the rcgtlation and improvement of the said town, passed at Diecember session eighteen hundred and twenty, chapter one hun- dred and fifty-nine, as relates to the appointment of commissioners and a bailiff for said townand prescribing their duties, be, and the same is hereby repealed. 2.
