For the relief of W. D. V. Downing, of the parish of Point Coupee.
6550 appropri-  SECrioN 1. B0 it enacted by the Senate and Rouse of Representatives of the
ae t.     . State of Louisiana, in General Assemibly convened, That the sum of five
hundred and fifty dollars be and the same is hereby appropriated out of
any money in the Treasury, not otherwise appropriated, to W. D. V.
Downing, being two-thirds of the value of the slave Abraham, sentenced
to colfinoment in the Penitentiary for life, in the parish of Terrboune, on
the thirteenth day of December, one thousand eight hundred and fifty-
three, and the State T'reasuror is hereby authorized to pay, on the war-
rant of the Auditor of Public Accounts, to the said \. D. V. Downing,
the said smn of live hundred and fifty dollars.
