For the relief of Mrs. N. P. Hale.
Preamble. UERIEAS, the slave William Green, the property of Mrs. N. P. Hale,
has been convicted of a capital crime, and is now in the State
Penitentiary for life; and whereas, the said slave is a superior
brick mason, and of superior value; and whereas, no compensation
has heretofore been allowed for said slave, therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representa-
500 approprl* tires of the State of Louisiana in General Assembly convened, That
to t. beN. p the State Treasurer shall pay, on the warrant of the Auditor of
Hale. Public Accounts, to the order of Mrs. N. P. Hale, the sam of five
hundred dollars, which amount is hereby appropriated in full com-
pensation for the convicted slave William Green.
When is. Act SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, &-c., That this Act shall take effect
