To authorize Manuela M. Lorento to adopt Sophie Martin, the legitimate child of Joseph
Martin and Sophie Foulon, both deceased.
SECTox 1. Be it enacted by he Senate and House of Representatives
Manoela M. of the Slate of Louisiana in General Assembly eonvened. That Manucla

sophie urutn, authorized to adopt, by noturial act, to be executed before the Parish
a samut  Recorder of the parish of East Baton Rouge, or any other Notary
Public of said parish, Sophio Mortin, the legitimate child of Joseph
Afortin and Sophie Foulon, both deceased, and now the wife of
Samuel M. Hart, of said parish of East Baton Rouge, the said
Sophie Mortin, when adopted, to have all the rights and privileges
as the adopted child as though she was the lawful issue of said
Manuela M. Lorento.
'When this Act  SEC. 2. Be it further en acted, <c., That this Act shall take effect
takes effect,  from and after its passage.
Forced heirs  SEC. 3. Be it farther enacted, 'C., That the provisions of this Act
excepted.  shall not interfere with the rights of forced heirs under existing
laws.

Wahlnsley, all of the parish of Natchitoches, which act was iassed before Frederick
Williams, Notary Public in and for the parish of Natchitoches, on the twenty-fifth day
of February, eighteen hundred and fllly-six.
Preamble.  WuEREAS, George S. Wanisley and his wife, Mario Arthentise AdhI,
both of the parish of Natchitoches, did, hy an actor sale, passed
before Frederick Williams, a Notary Public in and for the parish
of Natchitoches, on the twenty-fifth day of February, eighteen
hundred and fifty-six, for and in con.sideration of the suin of
thirty-two thousand and five hundred dollars, cash in hand paid,
sell, assign and set over and deliver, unto Lewis I. Walnisley and
Christopher L. Walmsley, also of the same residence, a certain
tract of land or plantation, situated in the parish of Natchitoches,
and known in said parish as the  Crescent Plantation, together
with a certain number of slaves, farming utensils, &c., for the
number and description of which reference is particularly had to
