as a slave.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, 4-c., That said David be per-
mitted to remain in the State of Louisiana after his manumission,
upon his giving bond for his good behavior to the Judge of the First
District Court of the Parish of Orleans, with good and solvent sure-
ties, in the sum of oLe thousand dollars, any law to the contrary not-
withstanding.
SEc. 3. Be it further enacted, 4-c., That this Act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT

To authorize John Cousin, of the Parish of St. Tammany, to emancipate the slave
Frances and her three children.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and Hlouse of Repre-
sentatives of the State of Louisiana in General Asseibly con-

before the Recorder or any Notary Public of the Parish of St. Tan-
many, the slaves Frances, and her three children Augustine, Rosam6
Bond tobe given by and Firain ; provided he give bond and security to the satisfaction of
s faidfouin, o the the Recorder of said Parish, that said slaves shall never become a tax
corder,         upon the community; and when thus emancipated, and the bond herein
required given, the said slaves shall have permission to remain in the
State, any law to the contrary notwithstanding.
When this Act takes 8Ew. 2. Be it further enacted, 4-c., That this Act shall go
into effect from and after is passage.
