he is hereby authorized to pay to the said Charles Janson and Joseph
Janson, the aforesaid sum of eighty-four dollars each per annum for
two years, on the warrant of the auditor of public accounts in quar-
terly instalments of twenty-one dollars each.
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, &c., That the sum of one hundred

Authorizing Cornelia Carter, f. w.e. and her children to remain in the State.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of     Representatives, of
the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened, That Cor-
nelia Carter and her fvc children, Thomas, James, Joseph, John and
pn' or color Henry, all free persons of color, and emancipated by John Lear, in
authorized to  the parish of Assumption, on the twenty-sixth of September, eighteen
remlain in the
State,      hundred and forty-nine, by the names of Cornelia, Thomas, James,
Joseph, John, and Henry are hereby authorized and empowered to
remain and reside in the State of Louisiana, any law to the contrary
notwithstanding.

For the relief of John H. Cunningham.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of
the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly Convened, That the
Appropriation of State treasurer be, and he is hereby authorized to pay to John H.
J 's It. Cu.o Cunningham, on the warrant of the auditor of public accounts, the
iingham.   sum of three hundred dollars out of any money in the treasury not
otherwise appropriated, said sum being compensation for the slave
Mark, executed for murder in the parish of Caddo, in eighteen hun-
dred and forty-four.
