            No.  233.]                      AN   ACT
            To  approprists inoiney to pay the o pee  of this State, for h- year endiing thi' thirty first day of
                              March, one thousand eight hundred and furty eitht.
              SECTION   1. Be it enacted bY the Senate and House of Representatives of
 geonra     the State of Louisiana, in General Assembly convened,  That  the following
 PsOn       sums be,  and  are hereby appropriatcd  to the objects hereafter expressed,
            for the year ending the thirty.first day of March, one thousand eight bun.
            drod and  forty.eight, to be paid out of any unappropriated money   in the
            treasury, namely;
                                    EXECUTIVE   DEPARTMENT.
  Governor    For compensation   of the Governor of this State, six thousand dollars.
Governor's prsi. For compensation of the  Governor's  private  secretary, six hundred
            dollavs.
 e'atary  of  For  compensation  of the secretary of State, for all services required to
 htat      be  performed  by him, two thousand  dollars.

                                    TREASURY DEPARTMENT.
Setreasurer.  For  compensation  of the treasurer of State, for all servicei required by
            law to be performed  by him, four thousand dollars.
Treaurer's ex- For stationery, clerk hire, fuel, and contingent expenses of the office of
plsm crosfc treasurer of the State, to be accounted for to the next Legislature, eighteen
            hundred and  fitiv.three dollars.
Auditorofpub- For compensation   of the auditor of public accounts, for all services re-
    a quired by law to be performed by him, three thousand dollare.
Auditor's con- For conitingent expenses of the oflice of auditor of public accounts, to be
en  xan,.accounted for to   the next Legislature, two thousand seven  hundred dollars.
Conlectors or For compensation  of collectors of State taxes on land, tlaves, trades and
stt  tax   professions, &c., and  deductions  for insolvent tax payers. Iitly thousand
           dollars.
              For compenssation of assessors of State taxes, ten thousand dollars; pro-
swate mPeostore vided no assessor shall be paid any compensation until he has completed
           the assesrnent  roll of :he parizhx cor assessment district for which he may
           have  been elected %ssessor, in contbraity with law, and tht- same has bretn
           approved  by the auditor of public accounts.
                                    JUDICIARY   DEPART.IENT.
Judges of tae For salaries of the chic Justice, and associate jutstices of the Sutpreme
supreme Court Court, twcnty.two thousand ilve hundred dollars.
Judges of the For  salaries of the jutlgcs of the District Courts, fifty-seven thousand
